Terms of sale
The terms for buying and using the Fundraising System Audit: Self Audit.
About these terms
These terms cover buying and using the Fundraising System Audit: Self Audit. The audit is provided by Fundraiser In The Room Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15974525), whose registered office is at 137 Heathcote Road, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, CV31 2LX ("we", "us"). "You" means the organisation that buys the audit, and the person who completes it on its behalf.
By buying the Self Audit you agree to these terms on behalf of your organisation, and you confirm you have the authority to do so. If you have a question about them, email hello@fundraisingsystemaudit.com.
Who can buy it
The Self Audit is sold to organisations, such as charities, not-for-profits and social enterprises, for use in their work. It is not sold to individuals as consumers.
What you get
- An online intake of about 50 questions, answered by one person at your organisation, with the option to upload supporting documents.
- Scoring of your answers and documents against the Fundraising System Audit method: eight Forces, forty sub-dimensions.
- A written report, read in full by an expert from Fundraiser In The Room before it is released to you.
- Access to your report online for 90 days after release, a downloadable PDF copy, and the option to ask questions about your report on screen during those 90 days.
We aim to release your report within ten working days of you submitting the intake. If it will take longer, we will tell you.
Price and payment
The price is shown on the Self Audit page and at checkout, with and without VAT. VAT is charged at the rate that applies when you buy.
You can pay by card through Stripe, our payment provider. We never see or store your card details. If you need to pay against a purchase order, you can ask for an invoice instead; invoices are payable within 30 days, and your audit opens once we have approved the order.
What we need from you
- Answer honestly and as fully as you can. The report can only be as good as the evidence it is given.
- Only upload documents you are allowed to share with us.
- Do not upload supporter data: no names, contact details or giving records of individual donors. Remove it first.
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself. Codes are sent to the email address the audit was bought with.
What the report is, and what it is not
The report is a diagnostic of your fundraising system, for discussion by your leadership and board. It is not a plan you must adopt, and it is not financial, legal, tax or regulatory advice. Decisions you make using it are yours.
The Self Audit hears from one person, so the report reflects that person’s view and the documents you provide. Where evidence is thin, the report says so and limits the score.
Scores and draft text are produced with the help of an AI model, then checked and, where needed, corrected by an expert from Fundraiser In The Room before release. The scores are calculated in code from the method; the model’s own arithmetic is never used.
Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel and have a full refund at any time before you submit the intake, as long as it is within 30 days of buying. Email us to ask.
Once you have submitted the intake, our work has started and we do not give refunds. If we cannot deliver your report for any reason within our control, we will refund you in full.
If the intake has not been submitted within 12 months of purchase, we may close the audit. We will email you first.
Upgrading to the Guided Audit
If you book a Guided Audit within 90 days of your Self Audit report being released, we will deduct the price you paid for the Self Audit, before VAT, from the price of the Guided Audit. The Guided Audit is agreed and invoiced separately.
Ownership and use of the report
You own your answers and the documents you upload. You give us permission to use them to deliver the audit.
We own the Fundraising System Audit method, its scoring and the design of the report. We give your organisation a licence to use your report for its own purposes, including sharing it with your trustees, staff, funders and advisers. You may not resell the report or publish the method.
We may use scores and findings in anonymised, combined form to improve the method and to report on the sector. We will never name your organisation or quote you without your permission.

Confidentiality and your data
We keep your answers, documents and report confidential, and use them only to deliver the audit, to improve the method in anonymised form, and as our privacy notice describes.
Our privacy notice explains what personal data we hold, why, who processes it for us and how long we keep it. It forms part of these terms.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Otherwise, we are not liable for loss of income, profit, funding or opportunity, or for any indirect loss, and our total liability to you for anything arising from the Self Audit is limited to the price you paid for it.
Availability and changes
We work to keep the service available and secure, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted. We may update the service and these terms. The terms that applied when you bought the audit continue to apply to that audit.
Complaints and the law
If something has gone wrong, email hello@fundraisingsystemaudit.com and we will put it right if we can.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
