About the Fundraising System Audit
The Fundraising System Audit is a service of Fundraiser In The Room. It helps charities see what in their fundraising system holds income back, and where to start.
Who's behind this
The audit was built by Damian Chapman, founder of Fundraiser In The Room. Damian leads the agency, and he's the person you'll see in the videos on this site.
Damian chairs Learning and Standards at the Chartered Institute of Fundraising. He chairs the Rogare fundraising think tank. He also sits on the Fundraising Regulator's Complaints and Investigations committee.
Over many years of working with charities, Damian kept hearing the same story. Skilled fundraisers were working hard and still missing targets. They were often blamed for problems that sat in the system around them: a strategy nobody shared, data nobody trusted, sign-off that took weeks, targets set without the means to reach them.
He built the audit to make that system visible. It gives fundraisers, chief executives, finance directors and trustees a shared picture to work from.
Why the system
We believe most fundraisers are good at their jobs. When results fall short, the cause is usually in the structure around them. Looking at the system lets a charity fix what's really in the way, without blaming the people doing the work.
Fundraiser In The Room
Fundraiser In The Room is a consultancy for charity fundraising. It works with charities on strategy, leadership and the systems that help fundraising grow. The Fundraising System Audit brings that work into a form any charity can use.
A better world. Made possible by fundraisers.
